Our studio is a beautiful, clean space to take a yoga class while in Sayulita. Sayulita Yoga Center provides air conditioning keeping the studio bug free and dust free. We provide all props including mats, or feel free to bring yours. Come a few minutes early to sign in. Sayulita Yoga Center is an 8 minute walk from the Sayulita Plaza and Beach with a parking lot.
In 2017 Graziella opened the Sayulita Yoga Center, driven by a passion to create a space where people could connect, grow, and build a conscious community. She envisioned Sayulita as a place where mindfulness, health, and wellness could thrive, and the yoga center became a cornerstone of that vision. The challenges brought on by COVID-19, particularly the anxiety it created in young people, highlighted the need for spaces where we can come together and find peace. At Sayulita Yoga Center, we offer a variety of yoga classes and special events such as full and new moon ceremonies and sound baths to support practice and well-being. We also provide dance classes for local children given our focus on nurturing the community. Our experienced teachers bring wisdom from various yoga traditions to help you find balance, strength, and mindfulness on and off the mat.
Graziella
Graziella began teaching fitness in 1988. She shifted her focus to yoga, completing a six-year Iyengar Yoga certification. Her classes are open to all levels, from beginners to experienced students. She values clear instruction and a steady approach to learning, helping students focus on alignment, breath, and awareness. Graziella supports each person in building a regular and focused practice, improving posture, stability, and mental clarity. Graziella continues to learn from senior teachers Gloria Goldberg, Abhijata Iyengar, Prashant Iyengar and Chantal Gomez.
Pierre
With over a decade of teaching experience, Pier brings passion, precision, and positivity to every class she leads. Her journey began in 2004 after recovering from spinal surgery, when she discovered Pilates and barre as a safe, effective, and empowering way to rebuild strength. She was instantly hooked — not just by the physical results, but by the sense of connection and balance these practices inspired. After years as a dedicated student, Pier became a certified instructor in 2016.
AmyAmy Cain has 30+ years of dance training in the US and abroad. She was co-owner of NHPAT™️ dance studio for 23 years, co-director of Revolve Dance Company, and a jazz instructor for upper-level students at Houston Ballet Academy. Her professional performing career included Revolve Dance Company, Ad Deum Dance Company, and Dominic Walsh Dance Theater. Nastasia
Nastasia is a 900-hour certified Jivamukti yoga teacher who completed her training in India and Berlin. She became a yoga teacher because she wanted to share with others what started as a physical pursuit but transformed into a practice that changed her life and eventually led her to Mexico. Her classes are strong and options are given so that any level from beginner to advanced will be able to get the most out of her classes. She focuses on alignment through oral cues and hands-on assists. Nastasia loves spending time in nature, surfing and stewards land.
Jimena
With over 10 years of experience in Pilates, Jimena is passionate about helping students of all levels discover the transformative power of movement. As a certified instructor specializing in Mat Sculpting Pilates, she creates dynamic and engaging classes that focus on building strength, flexibility, and body awareness. She believes in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and feel empowered.
Andrea
Andrea is a long-time Sayulita local, logging almost 20 years full time in Mexico. Andrea completed her 300 hour yoga certification online with Jules Mitchell in 2022, studying biomechanics, somatics, pain science, and restorative. She received her 200 hour certification from Narayani of Paraiso Yoga in Sayulita (2018), and her 50 hour Yin Yoga certification from Maria Abad of Paraiso Yoga (2023). Most recently, she has trained with Jim Gallas to offer guided Qi Gong practice in the tradition of Wai Dan Gong. Andrea is happiest at her jungle retreat in nearby San Ignacio with her husband, 2 kids, 3 dogs and 3 cats.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
Iyengar Yoga- You will be taught to stay in shoulder stand and headstand for some minutes within your capability. Poses will be taught from the ‘Introductory’ and the ‘Intermediate’ Level syllabuses of Iyengar Yoga.
Vinyasa Sukha Yoga
Vinyasa yoga is a dynamic style of yoga. Sukha can be understood as the experience of ease in the body and mind achieved through mindfulness, meditation, and compassionate living. It encourages a sense of balance and harmony both internally and in relation to the world around us. A Vinyasa Sukha practice has a rhythm that can be both energizing and meditative through fluid its movement and breath synchronization with each movement. Vinyasa is known for its versatility allowing teachers to create unique sequences, and it can vary in intensity, from gentle to vigorous. The focus on audible breath called "ujjayi breath" helps to cultivate mindfulness and presence, making vinyasa a popular choice for those seeking both physical challenge and mental clarity.
Jivamukti was founded over 40 years ago in New York by Ashtanga practitioners Sharon Gannon and David Life, who sought to bring yoga back to its roots during a time of increasing westernisation. Their most influential gurus include Shri Shyamdas, Shri Swami Nirmalanda, Shri K. Pattabhi Jois, Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati, and Shri Milanbaba Goswami.
The method is thorough, strict, and precise yet, it embraces a beautiful legacy of creativity giving teachers space to incorporate their unique selves into their classes. The method's strong emphasis on alignment and the presentation of various options for asanas make classes both accessible and safe. There is a strong lineage connecting us to the wisdom of those who came before, honoring yogic traditions.
A Jivamukti yoga class offers a complete experience of yoga, emphasizing not only asana but also mantra chanting, meditation, scripture study, and pranayama. Certain types of asanas are always included in a class, ensuring that every part of your body that needs attention receives it. The method's meticulous attention to sequencing fosters a strong sense of intention, fluidity, and connection to one's mind and body.
Qigong (pronounced "chee gong") is an ancient Chinese practice combining slow movements, deep breathing, and meditation to cultivate and balance the body's vital energy ("qi"), promoting physical, mental, and spiritual health, often used for stress relief, well-being, and as a foundation for Tai Chi, involving gentle, repetitive exercises and focused intention to guide energy flow
Hatha Flow Yoga • Hatha Flow yoga blends traditional Hatha (holding poses for breath) with Vinyasa (flowing between poses), creating a mindful practice that links breath to movement at a slower, more accessible pace than pure Vinyasa. It focuses on building strength, flexibility, and balance through classical poses (like Warrior, Triangle, Cat-Cow) held for several breaths, with pauses for instruction, making it great for beginners or those seeking a balanced, less intense workout to destress and connect mind-body
