Description

Villa Colima in Sayulita is located in Monterosa Condominiums. It is a 3 bedroom 3 bath condo on the quiet north side of town, located right across the street from the north beach. Easy 10-15 minutes walk to the town center, main beach, restaurants, shops, and all the activities Sayulita has to offer while enjoying the peacefulness of being away from the hustle-bustle of the town center. The beautiful, brand new, Monterosa complex enjoys gated security, an infinity pool, and a grass tennis court (the only court in Sayulita).

The living space is airy and bright, with doors that open up to that expansive ocean view and terrace. There is A/C throughout and ceiling fans for your comfort. The furnishings are very comfortable for lounging around and relaxing, or sitting down for a nice meal.

The private rooftop terrace has the most amazing views Great spot to lounge around in the hammocks and just enjoy the tropical sun and ocean breeze. There is a gas BBQ for grilling up steaks or the catch of the day, and an outdoor dining table for al fresco dining.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cook at home, with a flat top stove, stainless steel appliances, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, etc. There is counter seating at the island for four, as well as a dining table for six. Sliding doors open up for expansive views and ocean breezes.

Three bedrooms, two with a desk/workspace for your laptop should you wish to stay connected. There is one bedroom with king-size bed and ensuite bathroom. Another bedroom with two single beds (can be put together as another king upon request). And the third bathroom has a queen-size bed, ensuite bathroom, and is located upstairs off of the rooftop terrace.

The shared amenities at Monterosa include an infinity pool, outdoor showers and bathroom facilities by the pool, grass (synthetic turf) tennis courts, is gated for your security, and includes a parking area outside for a car, as well as golf cart parking inside the gates, just below the unit.

Family Paradise at Villa Colima

This is the review I would love to read if I were in another country booking Eric’s place. First of all so many places in Sayulita have photo shopped photos. You see beautiful photos online and then in real life it’s much worse. Villa Colima is the opposite! It is better than the photos and it keeps getting better. The place is a sanctuary from the heat, noise, and dust of Sayulita. It’s clean (other than the odd cockroach which we removed from time to time) because a cleaner came TWICE while we were here and we were only here a week! They drop off giant bottles of water for your whole stay and you arrive to a bag of coffee. We stayed a week and sweet Isis (who works with Eric) checks in often. She brought cards and a local game for the kids. She is super kind and helpful. Eric ans Isis helped us with concierge style information - where to eat, where to even find a seamstress! These guys are amazing!
Coming home at the end of a very hot day to the beautiful pool and cool apt was amazing. It was way too hot to go up on the deck on the roof in November but in Feb. this roof top would be such a gift! You can check the local surf from the roof top and there is a bedroom which is accessed off the roof. Most of the people who own are mellow- either families or retired expats and the place truly is quiet by 10 pm. I had so much anxiety about not being able to sleep in Sayulita but have no fear- this place is so quiet at night!
I can’t say enough about staying at the North end of town. I would never stay near the center or Gringo Hill now that I know about Monterossa. Walk to the beach, walk to town, walk to the best coffee and yoga (Don Burrito & the Yoga Room), or rent a golf cart.

The directions to get here are confusing if you are like me and didn’t sleep well the night before your flight and got smacked in the face with humid Sayulita weather at 6 pm at night. In the total darkness, all of Isis’ and Eric’s careful directions will probably make no sense. If I were you I would not rent a car at the airport and try to find it. I would take a taxi and then rent a golf cart in town. If you want to rent a car then activate your data for the arrival day and use maps to get here. It’s worth it!

We stayed a week and though I doubt we will be back again to Sayulita (surf is too challenging for the kids , temp is way too hot 32 degrees in the day in Nov, and kind of pricey) I can safely say that Villa Colima was the highlight and may even make us want to return. Seriously, it’s that good. Book it

Great location, Ok stay

We stayed for three nights here and loved the location. Perfect to walk into town but we also rented a golf cart and had an easy parking spot for our unit. The overall property is gorgeous and we loved the view and the pool. This unit is just ok. It’s quite spare - not enough beach towels for the number of people; only enough hot water for two people after a day at the beach when everyone needs to shower; no extra blankets, pillows, towels; the upstairs queen room would not comfortably sleep two adults so we split up kids and adults; upstairs bath has no outlets; only one small nightstand lamp per room: no soap in the showers. We had no water one day from 7-10:30am - staff was responsive and we had a water truck make it to fill. We like a little more comfort than this place provided. Again, great outdoor space and views.

I'm NOT Even Going TO Look Elsewhere, EVER!

Villa Colima at Monterosa is THE PLACE to stay in Sayulita. We've just spent 10 days here on a working vacation and it's perfect! Let me explain! It's far enough from the town to not be noisy, but close enough to walk in twice a day for food and beer. It has a FULLY equipped kitchen for a perfect lazy breakfast. The balcony looks over a pristine pool that you can lay in all day The rooms are big enough to have a family party in, the Master Room has a King Bed. Up the beautiful staircase, you'll find the third room, where I'd suggest putting the annoying kid or friend. And then while you're up there, check out the HUGE balcony and BBQ with views of Sayulita, maybe a little swing in the hammock if you're tired. There is air-conditioning throughout that has instant effect on the hot Mexico days. Eric is a SUPERB accomodating host and Sofia, his 'hands on the ground' is a WONDERFUL person for local knowledge and answering questions. I could keep going, but if you've read this far, you're next step would be to book it. Please just be sure to leave a few weeks free each year for me to return and escape the Canadian cold! FANTASTIC Stay!

So BEAUTIFUL!!!

What a perfect family vacation! Monterosa is a hidden little gem that we are SO grateful to have stumbled upon. Amazing staff that could not have been more accommodating. Very clean and decorated so cute! Awesome view of the infinity pool as well as the ocean. We didn't want to leave! Paradise! We will definitely be back!

Great property, host & staff - very clean and welcoming!

The property was very clean and beautiful. Great views from the terrace & balcony. Eric and Noah made our first, and not last, visit to Sayulita easy and pleasant. They were very quick with any help we needed and this was much appreciated for our first visit. Eric also gave us top notch recommendations for carts and excursions and helped set up transportation. You will be happy you booked a property with Eric! P.S. Check out the coffee shop a block away (near yoga). Great coffee, smoothies and French toast. It is on the main road into town.

Tanto Amor por Casa Colima!

Casa Colima was so much better than we expected! Sparkling clean, very well designed and an amazing view! we actually saw a whale in the bay from our balcony within the first two minutes of arriving. The upper terrace was our favorite place to hangout. We watched every sunrise and sunset from there. So relaxing. Little details like the bbq, the hammocks, bathroom amenities, beach chairs and boogie boards really helped make the casa that extra special. We stayed with our two children and it was more than enough room. The view from the lower balcony over the pool meant I could watch my kids from my own space. I will caution that there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the unit. if you are able-bodied then it is absolutely worth the climb. We are already looking to book our stay next year. Eric was and has been an excellent host. All his great advice and guidance, helping us get airport transportation and his assistant Ben helping us with everything we needed. They really made the stay so much better. We love this casa!

(English below) Encantados, el departamento, limpio, nuevo y muy espacioso. La vista inmejorable, la alberca excelente y el mar a muy pocos pasos. Cuenta con sillas y una sombrilla para el mar por lo que termina de completar la comoda estancia. Muy buena comunicación con el anfitrión.

Delighted, the apartment, clean, new and very spacious. The view is unbeatable, the pool excellent and the sea a few steps away. It has chairs and an umbrella for the sea so it finishes to complete the comfortable stay. Very good communication with the host.
